Alone on NYE
Get dressed. Put on something nice.
Go to a space that you like. Bring some hot tea or champagne. Or don’t.
Then do this: Give thanks.
NYE doesn’t have to be complicated or perfect. You don’t have to be surrounded by crowds, have a date, or have a special invitation. The hope of 2012 doesn’t have to hinge on the fulfilling the expectation of a spectacle of one day.
Saying “Thank You” means that nothing- not even being alone on the day- will stop you from living and enjoying the days to come. Nothing will stop you. Hope springs eternal.
